The connecting rod is a very significant component in any machine. It serves an important purpose: linking the crankshaft with a piston. Piston is moving part and the connecting rod helps it to move up or down. It does this when a crankshaft (like in some of the machines) rotates - it facilitates turning with help from connecting rod. Connecting rods can be found in all sorts of machinery, from cars and airplanes to boats or even lawnmowers. The connecting rod function is essentially to translate the up-and-down motion of a piston into round and around movement at the crank shaft.
